Navpad oli, an auspicious festival starts from today, September 30 in this year 2014. Jain community will observe nine days' Ayambil (Amil) on these auspicious days. The first day is dedicated to Arihant Paramatma, the Dev Tatva and the first Parameshthi.
The next four days will be for Siddh, Acharya, Upadhyay and Sadhu Parameshthi. People will bow to Samyag Darshan, Samyag Gyan, Samyag Charitra and Samyag Tap in the next four days after observing Sadhu Pad. The Navpad Oli will be concluded on Sharad Purnima, October 8, 2014.
This festival comes twice in a year in Ashwin and in Chaitra months. One has to do nine days' Ayambil dedicating above mentioned nine virtues. One has to do this for nine times to complete Navpad Oli. Large numbers of people dedicate themselves to Navpad in this time. They perform Pooja, Pratikraman, Jap and other spiritual activities to purify soul and to get rid of all Karmik bondage. Liberation is te goal of this spiritual activity.
